Every year, as the holy month of Ramadan approaches, the Qatar National Library (QNL) adjusts its operating hours for the duration of this special time.
From 10th March 2024 to 8th April 2024, the library is expected to be open to the public from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, excluding Fridays.
Why the Timings Change?
Understanding the importance of reflection and prayer during Ramadan, the aim is to provide a serene and accommodating environment for individuals seeking knowledge and spiritual peace.
The adjusted timings offer flexibility for visitors to observe their religious obligations while still enjoying the library’s resources and services.
What to Expect During Ramadan at QNL:
- Special Ramadan events and programs: Throughout the month, the library will host a variety of enriching events and programs centered around Islamic culture, history, and traditions. These include lectures, workshops, storytelling sessions, and more, open to all members of the community.

- Iftar and Suhoor options: While food and drinks are not permitted inside the library, several cafes and restaurants within Education City offer convenient options for Iftar and Suhoor meals.
